The side, under coach Jack Ochieng, beat Uganda Prisons 33-24 in the regional competition final held on 2 January to continue their decade-long dominance in the showpiece.
Coach Ochieng believes the ECAHF title serves as motivation at a crucial time, as they chase the national title that has eluded them twice.
In the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, Ulinzi Sharks rose to the occasion, securing back-to-back titles.
Further, the side has also dominated the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) Super Cup in the two seasons.
"We had a good outing in Uganda and that win has served as a huge motivation ahead of the season return. We will take this break to build on that success in Uganda, as we still have very tough match-ups in the league and we have to be at our best when we resume," coach Ochieng told Mozzart Sport.
The Ochieng-led side saw their decade-long league dominance broken by the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) side, Sharks, after three seasons of near misses.
At the start of the 2025/26 season, Sharks broke Nairobi Water's hopes of getting the season off with silverware, winning the Cup.
However, Ochieng believes that was down to a relatively inexperienced squad at the start of the season.
"We head to the season heads held high, having achieved a second-place finish without some key players," Ochieng who lost several players to injury last season, told Mozzart Sport in a previous interview, adding, "Last season was good for our rebuilding process as we got a few new players who got to gel with the rest of the team. We expect them to be at par as the new season begins."
True to his prediction, Nairobi Water has continued to dominate and remain unbeaten in five matches.
However, the season is far from done as the side is expected to play 22 matches in the 12-team league playing in home and away basis.
